FIELD: computer technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of computer technology for authentication (EAP) between a user device and a control plane function. On the user device, a request is received for an extensible authentication protocol, EAP, from a session management function, SMF, which acts as an EAP authenticator, for secondary authentication of the user device, wherein the secondary authentication is the authentication of the user device in addition to the primary authentication of user device (18); and in response to the EAP request, an EAP response is transmitted from the user device to SMF.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy of separating the control plane and the user plane during secondary authentication of the user device.
