Method of correcting map data includes executing a first process of correcting uniform displacement of cartographic data as a whole in order to reduce a first error, which is a common map data position error, and second error correction second error correction process, which is position error, which remains in cartographic data even after uniform displacement of cartographic data as a whole.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of errors in cartographic data, which increases accuracy of determining position of vehicle relative to lane on map data.
