FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for increasing the biomass of Poaceae plant roots, a method for increasing the biomass of elevated parts of a Poaceae plant, as well as to a method for increasing biomass of roots and biomass of aerial parts of Poaceae plant. Said methods envisage the stage of PEAPOD protein expression in Poaceae plant. Also disclosed is a method of producing a Poaceae plant with increased root biomass, a method of producing a Poaceae plant with increased biomass of the aerial parts, as well as a method of producing a Poaceae plant with increased root biomass and aerial parts biomass, which involve a Poaceae plant transformation step or Poaceae plant cell transformation, which is regenerated into a Poaceae plant, using a polynucleotide encoding a PEAPOD protein. Invention also relates to Poaceae plant expressing PEAPOD protein.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to effectively increase biomass of roots, as well as biomass of elevated parts of Poaceae plant.
