SUBSTANCE: invention relates to combined casting and rolling of metal. Combined unit for continuous casting and continuous rolling of metal strips comprises line (1) for continuous casting of slabs, first rolling mill (6) for rough slab processing and production of workpiece, second rolling mill (11) for final processing of blank and strip production, third rolling mill (18) comprising at least two stand (17) for further reduction of strip thickness, strip accumulation device (20) comprising at least one first coiler (37, 37') with dimensions allowing to wind and unwind coil with weight from 80 to 250 metric tons and/or to 6 meters 4 in diameter, called megacoil, first cutting devices (13) arranged between third rolling mill (18) and accumulation devices (20) made with possibility of strip cutting after winding of megacoil to at least one first coiler (37, 37'), at least one second coiler (48) for winding parts of the strip wound from accumulation device (20), to achieve a specified weight or coil diameter, second cutting devices (47) located between accumulation devices (20) and at least one second reel (48), configured to cut the strip when part of the strip is reached, wound on at least one second coiler (48), installed by restriction on weight or diameter of coil. Method includes stages corresponding to equipment of plant.
EFFECT: invention enables to expand the range of articles and produce strips with thickness of less than 0_8 mm with properties similar to properties of articles made by cold rolling.
