FIELD: cutters.
SUBSTANCE: milling cutter (1), in particular end or attachment mill, finishing mill, preferably for fir-tree slots (1, 1', 1''), having working area (3), rotated relative to working axis (4) of rotation for milling of workpiece and at least one cutting edge (5) extending transversely to circumferential direction (U) of working axis (4) of rotation (4). At least one of cutting edges (5) includes at least one section (5.1–5.4), on which cutting edge profile (P) defined by radial distance (F) between cutting edge (5) and working axis (4) of rotation nonlinearly varies along cutting edge (5), wherein cutting edge on this section (5.1–5.4) is equipped with chip groove (7) passing radially inward relative to said cutting edge (5) to working axis (4) of rotation and having base (9, 10, 10') of flute groove, the following profile (P) of cutting edge, at least on sections (5.1–5.4) of cutting edge with non-linear profile (P).
EFFECT: milling cutter and method of mill manufacturing are disclosed.
