FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical treatment of oxide ceramics and can be used for processing electrode graphite by mills. Mill comprises a shank at one end and a tool tip on the other end, between which there are grooves separating machining faces along periphery. Apex of the tool is made in the form of a segment of a ball head, in which processing faces have a rounded contour, expanding, in particular along radius of the ball head. At least one of the processing faces is intended for coarse processing, and at least one other of the processing faces – for fine processing. Presented design of the mill can be used as face mill for processing of crumbling materials, including dental-oxide zirconium porcelain.
EFFECT: increasing tool resistance and processing quality.
