FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to milling of gearing teeth with rectangular tooth outline over the length. Spinning cutter periphery is provided with replaceable inserts. Said inserts are arranged so that at feed of cutter to gearing element they enter the adjacent tooth space. Inserts are fitted at the cutter so that they have at least one cutting edge extending radially and perpendicular to cutter axis. At milling of tooth profile, cutter axis is oriented in the plane perpendicular to tooth back longitudinal length. Inserts spinning about cutter axis enter the gearing element teeth space surface. Said axis turns in said plane in angular range overlapping the area of all perpendiculars to the surface of the profile of tooth the be cut. Invention discloses also the method of milling of conical gear, cutter and cutter insert.
EFFECT: precise shape of tooth profile, possibility of make complex tooth profiles without replacement of adjustments of existing inserts.
