FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostics of oil-filled electric power equipment and to method of transformer oil quality and condition analysis. When the method is implemented, optical radiation is passed through the cell and a continuous signal spectrum is recorded in the entire range λ = 400–800 nm. Evaluation of oil quality and condition includes calculation of oil contamination parameter K = Ipas(λ)-Iscat(λ), where Ipas(λ) is spectrum of optical radiation passed through analysed oil; Iscat(λ) is spectrum of radiation scattered by analysed oil.

EFFECT: technical result consists in expansion of range of diagnostic parameters and increase in accuracy and efficiency of diagnostics.
