FIELD: chemistry; blasting operations.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of explosive mixtures for cartridges of explosive explosives. Composition of explosive for intermediate detonators contains mixed ammonium nitrate and liquid fuel with addition of aluminum powder into the mixture. Ammonium nitrate is ammonium nitrate, ground to particle size of less than 100 mcm. Aluminum powder is used as aluminum powder. Liquid fuel used is diesel fuel, or mineral petroleum base oil, or polymethylsiloxane liquid, or polyethylsiloxane liquid. In the mixture the components are in the following ratio, wt%: liquid fuel – 1.5–2.0; aluminum – 5–10; ammonium nitrate – the rest. Explosive preparation method for intermediate detonators consists in mechanical mixing of aluminum powder making 5–10 wt% of mixture of components, and 1.5–2.0 of liquid fuel, which is 1.5–2.0 wt% of mixture of components to produce homogenised paste-like mixture, in mechanical grinding of granules of ammonium nitrate to obtain powder with particle size of less than 100 mcm and mechanical mixing of said paste and ammonium nitrate powder added to produce 100 wt% mixture of components in a gravity-type mixer to obtain a homogenised mixture.

EFFECT: invention increases operational reliability and preservation of initial properties of composition of explosives for cartridges of intermediate detonators.
