FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing crystalline complexes of rare-earth ions (3+) of general formula (REE)2L3(NO)3⋅nCH3OH, where rare-earth elements - lantanoid ions (3+), n = 2–4, L is a photochromic ligand of a series of dithienylethene (1E,2E)-3,4-bis(2,5-dimethylthiophen-3-yl)-N,N'-dihydroxy-cyclopent-3-ene-1,2-diimine, as well as derivatives thereof. Method involves reacting alcohol solutions of salts of rare-earth elements (NO3)3 with a photochromic ligand of a series of dithienylethene (1E,2E)-3,4-bis(2,5-dimethylthiophen-3-yl)-N,N'-dihydroxy-cyclopent-3-ene-1,2-diimine or derivatives thereof. Invention also relates to a method of producing polymer composites containing not less than 10 wt. % complexes (REE)2L3(NO)3⋅nCH3OH.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain novel photomagnetic polymer composites which can be used as novel photosensitive magnetic media for spintronics and memory devices.
