FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science, particularly to a method for correcting the hoof malposition at a chronic stage of laminitis in horses and ponies. Method is characterized by the fact that on the surface of the hoof shoe parallel to support surface 5–8 mm-long furrow with length of 1/2–5/7 from the perimeter of the shoe at depth to a laminar horn is made, after which the furrow is treated with an antiseptic. Groove is made so that the revealed curve line of the hoof wall after furrow filing is below or not higher than the middle of the furrow, and branches of the furrow are formed so that distance from their ends to the hoop rim is 10–15 mm. For the duration of therapy, the hoof foot from the hook and to the widest part of the hoof is left flat. After complete merging of filing furrow, hoof is cleared.
EFFECT: use of invention will allow to correct hoof malformation.
