FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of machining a titanium alloy billet. Preliminary local plastic deformation of the rotating billet and its blade treatment are carried out by removing the allowance. Local plastic deformation of the workpiece is carried out by continuously moving ball with feeder to an amount not exceeding the value of the removed allowance by blade machining. In this case, a constant ball pressure is applied along the screw trajectory with the angle of inclination of the deformation layer to the end part of the workpiece.
EFFECT: as a result, the accuracy and quality of machining increase.
