METHOD OF FILLING MASSIVE BONE DEFECT OF ARTICULAR PROCESS OF SCAPULA IN SURGICAL TREATMENT OF ANTERIOR INSTABILITY OF SHOULDER JOINT Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used for surgical management of chronic fractures and massive bone defects of articular process of scapula accompanying development of anterior instability of shoulder joint. Performing the free plasty with the bone autograft extracted from the iliac wing in the form of a conditional right triangular prism, both bases and one lateral facet of which are represented by a spongy bone, and two lateral facets – with a cortical bone. Autograft is adapted by a side facet represented by a spongy bone to a prepared bone bed in a defect area on an articular process of the scapula and fixed with a screw directed from the front backwards through the upper part of the located in front lateral edge of the bone autograft to the articular process of the scapula. Further, a bone bed is prepared on said autograft face to remove a cortical plate throughout its lower part. That is followed by adapting an osteotomised fragment of the coracoid process with a set of tendons and fixing with a screw directed from the front back through the previously installed autograft into the articular process of the scapula.

EFFECT: method provides stabilization of a shoulder joint and prevention of occurrence of dislocations of a humerus by replenishment of a massive bone defect of an articular process of a scapula.
