SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to dentistry. Disclosed is a method for preventing the development of secondary caries, comprising preparing a decay cavity, drug-free caries cavity treatment, applying an adhesive system and using a composite paste containing dimethacrylate oligomers in amount of 60–64.5 %, a radiopaque composite filler of modified aluminosilicate glass with particle size of 0.02–2.0 mcm in amount of 5 % and nanosized particles of silicon oxide with particle size of 5–20 nm in amount of 30 %, with addition of crystalline chlorhexidine acetate in amount of 0.5–5 %, as a filling material. Cavity is filled in layers, polymerizing each layer for 40–60 seconds. Composition for preventing development of secondary caries for use in said method contains dimethacrylate oligomers in amount of 60–64.5 %, radiopaque composite filler of modified aluminosilicate glass with particle size of 0.02–2.0 mcm in amount of 5 % and nanosized particles of silicon oxide with particle size of 5–20 nm in amount of 30 %, and crystalline chlorhexidine acetate in amount of 0.5–5 %.

EFFECT: prolonged therapeutic effect in order to prevent development of secondary caries.
