FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a braking system for a railway vehicle comprising parking brake (2) equipped with piston (21) and having a first state, in which the piston is in an operating position in which it acts on pad support (32) and applies a predetermined force to brake disc (6), a second state in which the piston is at rest, in which it does not act on pad support (32) and does not apply force to brake disc (6), and third state, in which movement of railway vehicle and increasing temperature of medium surrounding disc, above threshold value, piston is displaced into protection position, which differs from working position and rest position, aiming at limitation or removal of force applied to said disc.
EFFECT: disclosed system has improved characteristics, particularly in terms of safety, is simple, convenient and provides economic benefit.
