DILATOR AND METHOD FOR OBTAINING ACCESS TO PATIENT'S VESSELS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61M25/01 A61M29/00

Abstract RU 2729727 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to medical devices for transcutaneous endovascular procedures, more specifically to techniques for transradial catheterisation using access through a radial artery, and in particular to a dilator to obtain access to a patient's vessel and to a method of obtaining access to a vessel patient. Dilator for accessing a patient's vessel extends along a longitudinal axis and comprises a tubular distal element having a converging distal end, which increases to a maximum outer diameter, wherein the maximum outer diameter extends towards the proximal end, and the bevelled portion, the proximal member extending longitudinally from the distal end having the skewed portion, to the proximal end, a replacement port in a transient region formed by superimposed a beveled portion of the distal end of the proximal member and a chamfered portion of the proximal end of the distal member, as well as a lumen extending longitudinally between the replacement port and the distal end of the distal member. Method of obtaining a patient's vessel comprises: providing said dilator; positioning a wire guide in a patient's vessel; as well as movement of the dilator along the wire conductor into the vessel without introduction through the introducer, so that the wire conductor exits the replacement port.

EFFECT: inventions allow using a guide catheter of larger diameter, eliminating the need to arrange the guiding catheter through the introducer.
