FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and can be used for subretinal transplantation of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells differentiated from human induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSC-RPE), for treating retinal diseases accompanying retinal pigment epithelium atrophy. Rabbits with atrophy of retinal pigment epithelium in subretinal space are introduced with suspension of induced pluripotent stem cells of retinal pigment epithelium (IPSC-RPE) in amount of 0.05 ml in amount of 50,000 cells. After the introduction of stem cells, the injection site is sealed with 2-3 drops of autologous plasma enriched with thrombocytes (PRP – Platelet-richplasma).
EFFECT: method enables increasing the functional retinal activity in the eyes with RPE atrophy with higher integration capacity and functioning of IPSC-RPE.
