FIELD: rail transport.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to railway transport, particularly to energy absorbing buffers, as well as to railway vehicles containing such buffers. Buffer contains a guide cylinder filled with energy-absorbing material, a percussion mechanism and a release device for releasing the energy-absorbing material. Impact mechanism and releasing means are located at different ends of guide cylinder. Collision involves extrusion with deformation of energy-absorbing material.
EFFECT: higher passive safety of railway vehicles.
