FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to energy absorbing devices when vehicle collides with obstacle. Proposed bumper contains outer movable and inner fixed frames mounted on vehicle body and intercoupled by elastic energy absorbing member. Said elastic energy absorbing member is made in form of layer of elastoplastic material with closed cellular structure and blind cylindrical holes along longitudinal axis of vehicle, thus forming honeycomb structure. Said elastic energy absorbing member is attached to fixed frame. Pair of levers arranged at angle relative to each other is arranged in each blind hole. Some ends of levers are hinge-connected to each other and to outer movable frame. Other ends of levers are also hinge connected with friction steel linings concentrically fitted into hole. Steel linings are made in form of longitudinal sections of hollow cylinder connected by pressure spring. Coiled cylindrical spring and pack of corrugated disk deforming at compression are tightly fitted in each blind hole between end face of linings and bottom of hole.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of damping of shock energy at collision of vehicle with obstacle, both at front and side impacts.
