RENDERING SYSTEMS AND METHODS WITH ADAPTABLE QUALITY UNDER CONTROL OF ENCODER Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G06T15/00 H04N19/172

Abstract RU 2730435 C1

FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rendering system and methods. Codec is used to encode one or more reference images for a partial set of encoder and renderer parameters to generate one or more profiles of rendering quality parameters, generate one or more reference images, computation of perceived qualities for each of one or more reference images, repeated rendering of one or more reference images for each of one or more profiles of rendering quality parameters, and calculating perceived qualities for each of the one or more re-rendered reference images. Renderer compares perceived qualities of reference images with perceived qualities of re-rendered images and compares them. These comparisons result in communication of one or more encoder parameters with their respective profiles of rendering quality parameters in a look-up table. Search table is used to generate a rendered image with perceived quality, which is substantially identical to the encoded frame.

EFFECT: technical result is to save computational costs of rendering without deterioration of quality of coded output signal.
