FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing mineral wool. Proposed method comprises the steps of: loading cupola with solid fuel and initial mineral raw material; melting of mineral material; production of mineral wool. Solid fuel contains fuel briquette made from annealed carbon-containing material. Carbon-containing material includes a carbonized biomass of vegetable origin and binder. Binder includes water-containing fraction of pyrolysis liquid and resinous fraction of pyrolysis liquid. Said fractions are obtained by separation of pyrolysis liquid with settling, wherein pyrolysis liquid is formed during pyrolysis of vegetal biomass. Amount of water-containing fraction with respect to amount of resinous fraction ranges from 4:1 to 7:1 by weight. Invention also relates to use of fuel briquette in fuel furnaces for production of mineral wool.
EFFECT: technical result of present invention lies in ecological and cost-effective method of producing mineral wool by replacing coke with fuel briquettes obtained from plant biomass.
