METHOD OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DURING TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE OF OIL AND GAS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC F16L1/28 B09C1/00

Abstract RU 2730563 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction and operation of oil and gas industry facilities and provides for organized removal of surface and ground oil-contaminated water, protection of environment during storage of oil and gas, laying and repair of pipelines in trenches, due to secondary use of deactivated silica gel - adsorbent drying hydrocarbon gases. Method proposes laying the system of drainage perforated pipes on the bottom of the trench or under the base of the reservoir or process equipment for transportation and storage of oil and gas in the pad from waste silica gel. Silica gel is first subjected to regeneration or slow heating without air access to transfer adsorbed hydrocarbons into pseudo-coke structures depleted of hydrogen. This prevents infiltration into soil of fresh portions of hydrocarbons, within adsorption capacity, during performance or repair works on pipeline or other use object, without preventing drainage of drained water. Sub-sprinkling from loose soil used as a cushion for a pipeline or other use object, and the pad from spent silica gel is separated using geotextile, which provides filtration of drainage water without mechanical particles of fillers from loose soil and prevents mixing of filtering agents in portion replacement of hydrocarbon-loaded silica gel. If necessary, silica gel filled with hydrocarbons is replaced in portions. Offered method promotes increase of service life of pipelines or other object of use before overhaul due to reduction of ground water level.

EFFECT: due to the presence of the system of drainage perforated pipes there is no possibility of the pipeline surfacing under hydrostatic pressure and, as a consequence, absence of loss of its local stability; also reduces costs associated with disposal of spent silica gel, due to its secondary use.
