FIELD: vehicle external lighting system.
SUBSTANCE: vehicle external illumination system contains light-forming units, light-sensitive device for reading levels of ambient lighting and controller. Each of light-forming units is connected to body part with at least one of front, side, rear side of vehicle. Controller is configured to interpolate the readout levels of ambient lighting in the direction of the front side and rear side of the vehicle to determine levels of ambient lighting in direction of side of vehicle and selectively activate each of light-forming units with variable intensity depending on the readable levels of ambient lighting and/or the determined direction of ambient lighting.
EFFECT: higher quality of outdoor lighting.
