FIELD: pest control.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended for pest control, in particular with rodents, for example mice and rats, or insects, for example cockroaches, which live in channels washed by water or pipelines, i.e., in particular, collectors of waste water, rain water or dirty water and/or cable channels, or corresponding sewage or cable chambers, i.e., in general, in water directing devices, and can cause considerable harm therein, for example in wastewater treatment plants and other infrastructure installations or devices. Device (1) for holding bait (2) for animals, such as pests, in particular rodents and/or insects, comprises placed in well, in particular well for sewage or cable well, housing (3), which has at least one receiving space (5). Receiving space is limited by at least one wall, in particular at least one wall of the housing. At least one through hole (9) is made in at least one wall, through which animal can reach at least one bait (2) located in receiving space (5). Said at least one or at least one passage opening (9) restricted by wall is made in wall of receiving chamber (31), connected or connected to housing (3). Sewage well or cable well comprises bait retainer.
