FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: use: for automated non-destructive ultrasonic inspection of welded joints of reservoir walls. Substance of invention consists in fact that device contains bearing frame and fixed on it: control unit of movement drives, control unit of acoustic systems, connected by electric cables with accumulator unit, cylinders for contact liquid, chassis, piezoelectric transducers connected by electric cables with accumulator unit and fixed on plates installed on bearing frame, and path transducer. Running gear comprises two swivel beams, each of which is fixed at ends of bearing frame by means of C-shaped brackets, axles, four drives of movement, connected by electric cables with accumulator unit, four polyurethane wheels connected to drives, four neodymium magnets, two magnetic conductors. Device is equipped with two systems for monitoring the profile of the welded seam, made in the form of trolleys fixed on the pivot beams and moved ahead of the pivot beams along the movement. Each bogie comprises a bar, four vortex current sensors, two wheels.

EFFECT: technical result is improved reliability of ultrasonic inspection of welded joints of walls of tanks.
