FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of dewatering solvents, namely to deep dehydration of toluene. Method of deep dehydration of toluene is carried out in two column-type apparatus operating alternately in a sorption-regeneration mode, carried out simultaneously and continuously. New is that sorption is carried out by passing toluene to be dried through a sorbent layer, which is used as a synthetic zeolite NaA, at rate 12.5–32.5 m3/m2 × h at temperature of 5–10 °C to obtain toluene with moisture content of not more than 0.004 wt. %, and spent sorbent recovery is carried out in parts of dried toluene, taken in amount of 0.9–1.6 vol. %, at 95–100 °C, followed by condensation and cooling of regeneration products mixture to 5–10 °C to form an emulsion, which is directed to a separator for separation into components of toluene-water components with subsequent removal of water from the process of drying toluene and return of toluene for repeated drying together with the starting toluene.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the organization of a process of deep drying of toluene using a continuous scheme, which increases degree of drying of toluene, increases its output, capacity of the plant, as well as reduction of the amount of dried toluene required for regeneration of the sorbent.
