FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of deep drying of toluene carried out in a column-type apparatus, an adsorber, comprising passing the starting toluene through a layer of sorbent with cooling and regeneration of the spent sorbent with the starting toluene when heated. Method is characterized in that the deep drying process is conducted continuously in two column-type apparatuses operating alternately in the sorption-regeneration mode, sorption – regeneration is carried out simultaneously, while sorption is carried out by passing the toluene through the sorbent layer at a rate of 10÷25 m3/m2×h at a temperature of 5÷10 °C to obtain toluene with a moisture content of not more than 0.005 % by weight, regeneration process of the spent sorbent is carried out with a portion of dried toluene taken in an amount of 10÷15 % and heated to 80÷90 °C with subsequent cooling of the regeneration products mixture to 5÷10 °C to form an emulsion, the resulting emulsion is sent to a separator to separate into constituent components, followed by water removal and toluene to be re-dried together with the starting toluene.

EFFECT: proposed invention makes it possible to organize the process of deep drying of toluene in a continuous scheme, simplify the hardware design process and thereby reduce energy costs, reduce the amount of process equipment and increase the yield of the required quality toluene.
