FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular, to power supply systems using a frequency converter (FC) for submersible electric motors in oil industry and other consumers with nonlinear load. Technical result is achieved by the fact that passive LC filter is formed from at least two parallel branches with possibility of operation in at least two modes. In one of the half power modes, operation is provided at reduction of active power of more than 50 % of the rated value, at that, one of at least two branches of the passive filter is switched off from the circuit, by transferring the controlled rectifier into the closed OFF position and breaking the block contactor accumulative elements of the corresponding branch. At that accumulator unit is configured to vary volume depending on feeder frequency.

EFFECT: technical result is broader functionality of device for suppressing harmonics of frequency converter, by increasing range of change of load, maintaining harmonic distortion factor within 5 % regardless of oscillations of load current, as well as providing possibility of operation from frequency supply mains 50; 60 Hz.
