FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining and can be used for determination of resistance of rocks to mechanical destruction. In the disclosed method, involving exposure of rock to the hard-alloy indenter, at which its axis is directed parallel to generatrix of cylindrical surface of well, with subsequent fixation of force at brittle fracture (prick out). Length of the contact strip formed during interaction of the indenter with the rock is ensured by constant use of the indenter in the form of a straight circular cylinder with a diameter equal to its length.
EFFECT: technical result obtained using the invention consists in improvement of accuracy of determination of resistance of rocks to mechanical destruction.
