FIELD: processing and transmission of information.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to allocating resources for acknowledgment. To this end, a method of transmitting control information to a communication network may comprise configuring at least two capabilities of a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), wherein each of said at least two PUCCH capabilities identifies uplink (UL) resources to be used to transmit control information to a communication network. Method may further comprise receiving an acknowledgment resource (ARI) indicating one of the configured at least two PUCCH capabilities to be used to transmit control information associated with downlink (DL) transmissions.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced number of handshaking, reduced number of errors in transmissions and avoiding loss of power during transmission.
