METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF HIP FRACTURES IN FEMALES WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N33/68 G01N33/573

Abstract RU 2731844 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to rheumatology, and can be used for prediction of hip fractures in females suffering rheumatoid arthritis. Serum concentration of angiopoietin-like protein of type 3 - APLP-3 - is analysed. If the level is less than 248 ng/ml, a low risk of fractures is diagnosed. If the level is more than 445 ng/ml, a high risk of fractures. If the APLP-3 values within range of 248–445 ng/ml are included in the biochemical monitoring group for further follow-up - at least once in 3 months, on the risk of hip fracture development.

EFFECT: method provides more effective prediction of the risk of hip fractures in females suffering rheumatoid arthritis by examining APLP-3 - one of angiopoietin-like proteins, related to a family of angiogenic regulating secreted proteins, which can act as indicators of pathological processes associated with rheumatoid inflammation.
