FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to manual appliance (1), which is used to perform processing action during movement along processing surface (4). Result of processing depends on angular position (α), wherein the device is retained relative to the processing surface. An example of such a device is an epilator for removing hair from a user's skin surface. Device comprises at least two light sources (5) arranged and made, each, with possibility of creation of limited light spot (6) on treatment surface or on external surface of appliance, when appliance is in operation. Two or more light sources (5) are arranged so that light spots (6), which they create, at least partially coincide, when device is retained in angular position relative to processing surface, which is within specified range of angular positions, for which processing action is optimal. Light spots do not coincide when the device is held in an angular position outside said preset optimal range of angular positions.

EFFECT: as a result, user is provided with visible indication of correct angular position, which directs him or her to optimum use of device.
