SUBSTANCE: device for treatment of subject tissue by means of laser-induced optical tissue destruction contains: a light source for providing a pulse laser beam; a focusing system for focusing the laser beam to a focal spot that can be located in tissue; and a feedback system for: detecting a feedback signal from tissue, wherein the feedback signal contains light and/or sound generated by the pulse laser beam; and determining, based on light and/or sound, whether the focal spot was in tissue during the pulse. The feedback system is additionally made with the possibility of: calculating a number of effective pulses for a given number of pulses of the pulse laser beam, wherein effective pulses contain: pulses, for which it was determined that their focal spot was in tissue; and/or pulses, for which it was determined that they caused laser-induced optical tissue destruction; and/or pulses, during which contact pressure was higher than threshold pressure; and comparing the number of effective pulses with the given number of pulses to evaluate the efficiency of tissue treatment. The method for the treatment of subject tissue by means of laser-induced optical tissue destruction uses the device and additionally contains a stage, at which feeding of the pulse light beam is stopped, when the focal spot is not in tissue, or when the reference pressure or force is not applied.
