FIELD: cooling or freezing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: turbo-expander set relates to refrigerating equipment and is used as a cold source in various systems, in particular in installations for low-temperature separation of gas or its cooling before transportation in conditions of extremely low temperatures. Turbine expander contains a housing with cavities, a shaft installed in the housing on magnetic bearing assemblies, a compressor and a turbine arranged on the shaft, slotted seals and a nozzle assembly. Nozzle unit is made as rotary or fixed. At that, the fixed nozzle device has invariable flow section with absence of a gap on the blades and housing attachment areas. Rotary nozzle device features variable flow section with moving blades between two coaxial cylinders with variable radial clearance at blade ends. Above working blades of the turbine there are drain holes in the body, which provide withdrawal of liquid formed during expansion and dropping it to gas outlet. In lower part of cavities of support of turbine and compressor there are drain channels serving for drainage and discharge of accumulated gas condensate and liquid into outlet cavities of turbine and compressor, respectively.
