FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for assessing the risk of complications in the macular region and loss of visual functions in patients with peripheral vitreous chorioretinal dystrophy in massive laser coagulation of the retina. Electrophysiological examination is performed. At reduction of amplitude of a- and b-waves of ganzfeld of maximum electroretinogram and/or of second wave of oscillatory potentials by 30 % and more and if observing the amplitude or density of the P1 component of multifocal electroretinogram in 1st-3rd rings by 30 % or more as compared to the norm, the risk of macular dysfunction.
EFFECT: method enables predicting reduced visual functions and provides adequate selection of a therapeutic approach to the patient.
