FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for non-invasive determination of patient's blood oxygen saturation by means of near-infrared spectroscopy using a multi-distance method and considering light signal attenuation caused by light absorbers other than hemoglobin and deoxy hemoglobin, as well as light-diffusing properties of patient's tissue.
EFFECT: device and method, in particular, are suitable for measuring blood oxygen saturation in the abdominal cavity of newborns taking into account meconium, transitional stool and biliverdin.
