SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for treating an infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, comprising administering a composition comprising a GLA compound having the following structure (I):

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, where L1, L2 , L3, L4, L5 and L6 are identical or different and independently represent -O- or -NH-; L7, L8, L9 and L10 are identical or different and independently absent or are -C (= O) -; Y1 is -OP (O) (OH)2; Y2, Y3 and Y4 each represent -OH; R1, R3, R5 and R6 are identical or different and independently represent C8-13-alkyl; and R2 and R4 are identical or different and independently represent C6-11-alkyl.
EFFECT: novel effective method of treating tuberculosis by enhancing the immune response.
