FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of manufacturing a fuel assembly for nuclear reactors. Proposed method comprises arranging spacer grids with coaxially placed cells at certain distance from each other and nuclear reactor fuel elements (FE) into coaxial cells. When a rod fuel element is spaced in each of the distance grids, an individual frequency of ultrasonic oscillations is supplied to it by means of at least two ultrasonic emitters which enable to change the individual frequency of ultrasonic oscillations when the fuel element enters each of the spacer arrays. Selection of frequency for optimum press-in force as channel tubes enter spacer grids is performed by programmer entering control system in frequency range from 18 to 40 kHz. Filling feedback with a force sensor mounted on a pusher and a unit for responding to trends in growth of assembly force in real time provides for issuing a signal for change in oscillation frequency to ultrasonic emitters both by their value and direction.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced friction of fuel element on surface of cells of spacer grids and elimination of deformation of parts at passage of both first and next spacer grids, elimination of occurrence of surface scratches during passage of fuel element in cells of spacer grids.
