FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to longitudinal and transverse steering rod (10, 30) and method of their production. Longitudinal or transverse steering rod has integral connecting pipe (11, 31, 41), end sections (19, 32, 33) of which contain respectively parts of hinge joints (12, 34, 35). Connection pipe (11, 31, 41) is reinforced by means of at least one pipe section (13, 39, 40) connected to power connection with connecting pipe (11, 31, 41), wherein pipe section (13, 39, 40) by its outer wall (14) or its inner wall over entire area adjoins wall (24) of connecting pipe (11, 31, 41) to form press connection, wherein connecting pipe (11, 31, 41) is plastically deformed radially in circumferential direction within connecting section (16, 42) spaced from ends of connection pipe (11, 31, 41), at connecting section connecting pipe (11, 31, 41) has increased internal and external diameter or decreased internal and external diameter in comparison with its non-deformed radially in circumferential direction sections. Method of making longitudinal steering rod (10, 30) or transverse steering rod comprises positioning tubular billet of pipe section (13, 39, 40) inside tubing billet of connection pipe (11, 31, 41) and increasing diameter of both pipe billets within connecting section (16, 42) by means of mandrel (44) with increased size, which is moved in common axial direction of both pipe billets.
EFFECT: technical result consists in possibility of obtaining longitudinal steering rod or transverse steering rod with integral connecting pipe, which has relatively low weight and simultaneously reliably perceives mechanical stresses.
