FIELD: medicine; veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to veterinary surgery and arthrology. Performing operative approach to cartilage by cranio-lateral mini-arthrotomy. Cartilage defect is formed on a chamfer of a hip bone block at point 1 cm distal from the point of steepness of the knee cup when the joint is extended to angle of 90° with the help of a cylindrical face cutter with diameter of 6–8 mm and a milling cutter rotation speed of 600–800 rpm. Cartilage is removed by 2/3 of its thickness. Formation of focal osteoarthrosis occurs 60 days after induction.
EFFECT: method enables the most accurate simulation of focal arthrosis of distal femoral epiphysial cartilage with preset parameters and optimal timing of arthrosis formation.
