FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: dislocation of the knee-cap in dogs is predicted by analyzing knee joint computer tomograms. The parapatellar-cap factor - the ratio of parapatellar cartilage area to the knee-cap area - is calculated. With a value of this ratio less than 0.1, a knee-cap dislocation is possible.
EFFECT: device provides high accuracy of measurement with minimal inspection time, manufacturability and simplicity of prediction.
