FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to a cure for treating lung cancer or chronic lung disease in a human. Method involves administering a pharmaceutical aerosol composition in the form of a dry powder of micronised rapamycin, carrier particles and one or more optional excipients by inhalation to a subject. Micronised rapamycin consists of particles with mass median aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) from 1 to 5 mcm. Total daily dose of rapamycin administered once a day to subject is 50 to 250 mcg. Preferably, the carrier contains a mixture of two different carriers, most preferably, the carrier consists of a mixture of two different lactose carriers.
EFFECT: method according to the invention provides high local concentration of rapamycin in lung tissue, which is achieved with a relatively low concentration of rapamycin.
