FIELD: pulse engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a high-voltage pulse technique, high-current electronics, plasma physics and can be used to create a stationary magnetic fields with strengths of ~10 kA/m in the volume of ~10 m3 for the purpose of scientific research. In the device for formation of a quasi-permanent strong magnetic field in large volumes, which contains series-connected power supply and solenoid, new is that the power supply is made in form of a battery of galvanic cells, between power supply and solenoid there is a high-current switch, wherein parallel to outputs of high-current switch is connected circuit, which protects it from pulse overvoltage, closing diode is connected in parallel to solenoid to circuit section between high-current commutator and solenoid cathode, and circuit of current parameters control is connected between point of connection of closing diode cathode to circuit and solenoid.
EFFECT: high stability of parameters of the generated magnetic field owing to stabilization of current in the solenoid.
