FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physics of plasma, gas discharge, high-current electronics, etc. and can be used to generate magnetically active low-temperature plasma in large volumes for the purpose of scientific research. In device for formation of low-temperature magnetoactive plasma in large volumes, which contains serially connected mesh anode, high-current switch, potential source and thermal cathode, wherein thermal cathode and anode are placed in vacuum chamber and longitudinal magnetic field, as well as closing discharge gap of diode. Potential source is made in the form of battery of galvanic cells, and between potential source and thermal cathode a throttle is connected, wherein closing diode is connected by cathode to section of circuit between throttle and potential source.
EFFECT: high stability of parameters of the formed plasma owing to stabilization of the gas discharge current.
