FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to methods for marking friction wedges. Wedge is made in the form of a hollow body with an upper non-working wall, coupled with two opposite nonworking side walls. Each sidewall is made with identical holes arranged opposite each other. Hole is made in the upper nonworking wall. Marking is applied to outer surface of horizontal wall free from hole mechanically. That is followed by filling with a plastic seal on the outer surface of the flag of which an individual seal number is applied. Seal is made with a pointed shank and a flag. Flange locking elements are arranged inside said flange. Sharpened end of shank is passed through holes in upper wall and one of side walls. Then, the sharpened end of the shank is pulled to make a loop through the flag body with the locking elements. Flag and loop are placed inside the body cavity. Individual number of the seal is entered in the friction wedge guide.
EFFECT: increased protection of friction wedge from counterfeiting and copying.
