SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to thoracic surgery. Before surgery, the thickness of the interventricular septum is measured by echocardiography. That is followed by measuring the thickness of the interventricular septum. Based on the derived values, the cosine of the rotation angle of the interventricular septum (e) plane is calculated as the ratio of the thickness of the interventricular septum before the operation to the thickness of the interventricular septum after the operation. Further, according to four-digit Bradis V. M. mathematical tables angle e is determined, which corresponds to the turn angle of the interventricular septum plane and characterizes the rotational displacement of the heart after the operation.

EFFECT: method enables high-accuracy determination of the rotational displacement of the heart in oesophageal excision in a Lewis operation.
