FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an apparatus for producing an organic hydride, comprising: an electrolyte membrane with proton conductivity; cathode provided on one side of the electrolyte membrane, having a cathode catalyst layer, comprising metal particles selected from a group comprising Pt, Ru, Pd, Ir and alloy containing at least one of them and used for hydrogenation of substance - hydrogenation object using protons with obtaining of organic hydride, as well as catalyst support made of electron-conducting material containing one of porous carbon, porous metal and porous metal oxide, and bearing cathode catalyst; an anode provided on the opposite side of the electrolyte membrane, containing an anode catalyst containing platinum metal oxide and used to oxidise water to obtain protons; and an anode holder provided on the anode side opposite the electrolyte membrane, and a supporting anode, wherein the anode holder is formed from an elastic porous body, the Young's modulus of which is 0.2 N/mm2 or more and 40 N/mm2 or less.

EFFECT: technical result is providing a technology for increasing efficiency of producing organic hydride.
