FIELD: separation.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a solid-to-liquid separation method during mining, use of the method to provide improved flocculation of trihydrate particles and sequestering output of aluminum oxide trihydrate, use of method for inhibiting rate of nucleation of one or more crystals of aluminum oxide trihydrate in Bayer process, composition for separation of solid substance—liquid during mining and use of composition for inhibition of rate of nucleation of one or more crystals of aluminum oxide trihydrate in Bayer process. Method of separating solid substance—liquid in mining involves combining a first composition containing a flocculating agent, and a second composition containing a boronic acid-containing polymer to form a mixture; exposing the mixture to pH 8 or higher to form a cross-linked reaction product; bringing cross-linked reaction product into contact with fluid medium flow during mining and separation of solid substance from liquid.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of particle selection and rate of deposition, minimization of concentration of solid particles in upper drain after the last stage of classification, which increases efficiency of the process.
