FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry and can be used in detection of scaling in an oil-field pipeline. Method of determining volume and interval of deposits in a pipeline comprises arranging movement of liquid through a pipeline with constant and known flow rate, simultaneously with selected points regularly spaced along length of pipeline, flow rate of this liquid is determined through a pipeline, pressure is changed with determination of sections with maximum volume of deposits in the pipeline. In sections with minimum pressure, radiographic inspection is performed by means of X-ray imaging to a section of pipeline free from salt deposits. Radiographic control is followed by dosimetric monitoring at the same site.
EFFECT: disclosed method of determining volume and interval of deposits in a pipeline enables to determine accurate location of intervals and value of deposits by duplicating measurements using X-ray and dosimetry control with minimum costs, absence of complex calculations and visual confirmation of deposits on internal walls of oil pipeline.
