INTRAVENOUS INTRODUCTION OF CITRULLINE DURING SURGICAL INTERVENTION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61K31/198 A61P9/00

Abstract RU 2733738 C2

FIELD: medicine; pharmaceutical industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of maintaining vascular tone of the lungs in a patient undergoing surgery, which is cardiopulmonary bypass, wherein filtration is applied in connection with heart disease, where the method involves: (a) administering 100–300 mg/kg of citrulline to a patient at the onset of the surgical intervention; (b) administering 100–300 mcmol/l of citrulline to a patient by fluid for correcting haemoconcentration during the intervention; (c) administering citrulline bolus 10–30 mg/kg 15–45 min after decannulation in cardiopulmonary bypass; and (d) citrulline infusion to patient after 6–48 hours of intervention at rate of 5–15 mg/kg/h, wherein concentration of citrulline in plasma exceeds 100 mcmol/l. Also disclosed are a liquid composition for correction of haemoconcentration and use of citrulline for preparing said composition.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides higher postoperative plasma levels of arginine and nitrogen oxide metabolite and reduced or prevented increase in postoperative vascular tone of lungs, that reduces duration of postoperative invasive mechanical ventilation.
